Docs on Tap V2 has some a similar layout to the previous version however some key features are changed. In this article you will see the current methods by which you can view, search, annotate and bookmark a document. As well as what symbols now represent these functions.
Viewing A Document
Once a document is selected from the Sidebar, the document will be displayed within the document viewer.
A sub menu containing a number of features that will be discussed below is available by single tapping anywhere in the document viewer. When a single tap is performed the sub menu will appear as shown below:
Searching -
The searching feature provides the ability to search for text within the selected document. When this option is selected the end user is able to enter text within the search field. In the example below the search criteria entered is ‘Council’:
The app will highlight the matching text and by using the arrows the end user is able to move forwards and backwards between the document.
To exit out of the search mode, tap on the
which will close the search screen.
BookMarks –
Bookmarks are accessed by clicking on the bookmark icon. When this sub menu item is selected any available bookmarks will be shown as follows:
The user can navigate to the required page by tapping on the bookmark required or navigating down to the next level of the bookmarks by tapping on the
button. This will move to the next level in the nestled bookmarks.
Annotations -
The annotations submenu is activated by tapping on the pencil icon which will then bring up the following submenu:
By selecting the icon required the end user is able to apply the annotation tool to the page that is currently been viewed.
Note, the selected icon will show as greyed out when it is active and the end user will be able to continue to apply the annotation type to the current page. To end the use of the tool type tap on the greyed out icon to end the annotation process, or tap on another tool type to continue annotating the current page. To navigate to the next page the annotation tool has to be inactive.
When an annotation has been applied to the document by tapping on the annotation the end user will have the following options provided to them:
The Style option provides the ability for the end user to modify the color of the applied annotation using the palette selector shown below:
Displaying Annotations
Annotations applied to a document are able to be viewed by selecting the
icon. When this is selected, the following screen is displayed:
Annotations available across all Devices
Annotations now made within the app will be automatically available across all devices in which the end user runs the app.
